Fooq’s is a modern American-Middle Eastern restaurant, inspired by the vibrant spirit of mezze-style dining. With a focus on seasonal vegetable and protein plates designed for sharing, the food is bold, expressive, and meant to be enjoyed communally—bringing guests together over flavors that feel familiar yet exciting. Fooq’s is part of We All Gotta Eat!, a multi-unit, multi-concept restaurant group, with locations in NYC, Miami and soon Los Angeles. Our dynamic group includes Michelin Star locations Sushi Noz and Noz 17 & Noz Market Omakase restaurants and Chez Fifi, a French bistro with Basque influence on the Upper East Side of NYC. Our Miami restaurants include Eleventh Street Pizza locations and Fooq’s Little River.


 

About the role

The Lead Host / Hostess is responsible for managing the flow of service at the front door and ensuring a smooth and organized guest experience. This role supports the host team, works closely with managers, and helps manage reservations, seating, and guest communication. The Lead Host / Hostess plays a key role in setting the tone of service and maintaining a strong first impression. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the host stand and lead the host team during service

  • Oversee reservations, seating, and table flow to ensure smooth operations

  • Greet guests warmly and manage wait times in a professional and organized way

  • Communicate clearly with managers, servers, and kitchen to support service flow

  • Handle guest concerns and special requests with professionalism

  • Support and train host team members on service standards and system

  • Ensure reservation systems are updated and accurate

  • Monitor pacing of the dining room and adjust seating as needed

  • Assist with opening and closing duties at the host stand

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front of house area

  • Support the team during busy service periods with flexibility and urgency

  • Represent company standards and hospitality in all guest interactions

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a host or lead host in a high volume restaurant

  • Strong communication and organization skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time

  • Strong guest service and problem solving skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment

  • Experience with reservation systems preferred

  • Flexible schedule with weekend and holiday availability 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to move around the restaurant throughout the shift

  • Ability to handle a fast paced environment
